Billing questions
What counts as a trip?
One story made from one drop of photos. If we spot two trips mixed together and you split them, that’s two trips.
Is the first trip really free?
Yes. No card, no trial clock. Your first story, map, film and journey page stay online for as long as you keep your account.
Can I upgrade a trip I already made?
Yes. Add a Trip Pass ($9) to any trip and we re-cut its film without the watermark and unlock 30, 60 or 90-second films and every format. Nothing you wrote or edited changes.
Can I buy a Trip Pass before the trip?
Yes. A pass you buy without a trip waits on your account and is used by the next trip you make.
What happens if I cancel Explorer?
Every trip you made stays yours: the stories, journey pages and downloads keep working, and trips made while you were an Explorer keep their full features. New trips after that follow the free limits, or you can add a Trip Pass to a single trip.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Anytime. The change applies from your next billing date, and yearly works out at $6 a month instead of $10.
How are payments handled?
Securely by Stripe. TripStory never sees or stores your card number. Prices are in US dollars; local taxes may apply at checkout.

Each trip is public, anyone-with-the-link, or only you - change it anytime. Nothing appears in public listings unless you choose Public.
Never used to train AI
Your photos and stories are used to make your trip and nothing else. The AI services we use may not train on them, and the living photos on free trips and Trip Passes are made on our own servers.
Exact spots stay private
Journey pages show places, not coordinates: locations are rounded to about 100 m, and your photos’ GPS data and exact times are never shown.
Delete means delete
Delete a trip and its photos, film, comments and reactions are removed from our storage and database right away.
No ad trackers
No third-party ad or tracking scripts. Our own first-party analytics only count how TripStory is used, and are never sold or shared for advertising.

Download every film as an MP4 - widescreen, plus 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 on paid plans - and keep it wherever you like.
