The short version
- Your photos and the stories made from them belong to you.
- You give us permission to process them only to make and show your trips the way you choose.
- Only upload or import photos you have the right to use, and be kind in comments.
- Your first trip is free. Trip Pass is a one-time payment per trip; Explorer renews until you cancel.
- You can delete your trips or your account at any time.
Using TripStory
TripStory turns your trip photos into a written story, a route map, a film and a shareable journey page. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy.
You need to be at least 13 years old (or older where local law requires it) and to give accurate sign-up details. Keep your sign-in secure - you’re responsible for what happens in your account.
Your photos and stories
You keep ownership of the photos you upload or import and of the stories, maps and films made from them.
So that we can run the service, you give TripStory a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive permission to store, copy, process, adapt (for example resize, caption, animate and edit into a film) and display your content - only to provide TripStory to you and to show it to the people you choose. This permission ends when you delete the content, except for copies that others have already downloaded from pages you shared.
We never use your content to train AI models, and we never sell it.
AI-made content
Captions, places found in your photos and stories are made with AI from your photos, dates and places. They can contain mistakes - a wrong detail, an odd phrase, a place that’s slightly off. Please read your story before you share it; everything is editable.
Some films include living photos: a few seconds of motion that an AI model adds to a photo. Every AI-animated scene is labelled as such in the film.
Soundtracks are original music generated for your film. You may use your films for personal purposes, including posting them on social media. Contact us before any commercial use.
Fair use of the service
Please don’t:
- upload or import photos you don’t have the right to use, or content that is illegal, sexually exploitative, hateful or violent;
- harass people in comments, impersonate others, or share someone’s private information;
- try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or get around plan limits.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. To report something, email hello@tripstory.fun.
Plans and payments
- First trip - free, no card needed: one trip with up to 60 photos and a 30-second film with a small watermark.
- Trip Pass - $9, a one-time payment that upgrades one trip: up to 300 photos, 30, 60 or 90-second films without a watermark, every format (16:9, 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1) and unlimited re-cuts.
- Explorer - $10 a month, or $72 a year: everything in Trip Pass on unlimited trips. It renews automatically until you cancel; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the paid period.
Every plan includes living photos; how many, and which engine makes them, depends on the plan (see Pricing).
Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and may exclude local taxes shown at checkout. If we change a price, we’ll tell subscribers at least 30 days before it applies to them. If something goes wrong with a purchase, write to us - we’ll make it right, and your statutory rights (including any right to withdraw) are never affected.
Ending your account
You can delete trips at any time, and delete your account and everything in it from your Account page. Trips you’ve already made stay yours when a subscription ends - the stories, journey pages and downloads keep working.
We may end or suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we ever shut TripStory down, we’ll give at least 60 days’ notice so you can download your films.
The legal part
TripStory is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running and your content safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived.
We may update these terms as the product grows. We’ll change the date above and, for important changes, tell you in advance by email or in the app.
